Vicki Macauley
Vicki Macauley is the USC’s Senior Manager, Finance. There is no one that has worked at the USC longer than Vicki! For the past 40 years, Vicki has been supporting student leaders and leading the USC’s finance department to be what it is today. Vicki manages the finances for all USC programs, events, the USC clubs system, in addition to the USC’s operations including the Spoke. Vicki works closely with the Vice President of Governance and Finance and the Board of Directors of the USC. It is clear that Vicki’s leadership has been instrumental in allowing the USC to navigate crises like the Student Choice Initiative and the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Vicki is always the first person in the office in the morning – this has left many Executive teams over the years (our’s included) to look forward to many great morning chats with Vicki when coming in. Vicki is incredibly humble about the amount of the expertise she has about the USC and the impact she has had on hundreds of staff that have come through the USC office. She has mentored each Secretary Treasurer and now Vice President of Governance and Finance and has been an incredible source of support, information, and mentorship in helping each of them to understand and execute their role. She is without a doubt, perseverant, understanding, and willing to drop everything to help the team. Marc St Pierre, the USC’s current Vice President of Governance and Finance when asked about Vicki says, “I think the best thing about VIcki is she’s always willing to lend a helping hand or try to solve your problems but is also a very compassionate person and loves to chat. She’s probably the hardest working person I’ve ever met.” What’s clear about Vicki is her desire to see student leadership succeed and do all she can to help the teams reach their goals.
Vicki has left a lasting impression on so many student leaders that have come through the USC. When speaking with USC alumni, you can always count on them to ask “How is Vicki?” because Vicki has always welcomed new student leaders into the USC and has made them feel at home with the staff that work full time. And finally, there’s a reason why Vicki has the only office in the USC with fun wallpaper – she’s one of a kind and pretty special to all of us.
