World Indigenous Peoples Day is an official day of celebration to recognize and honour the heritage, cultures and valuable contributions to society by Indigenous peoples.
First and foremost, the USC exists to represent students and advocate for students. The USC is committed to advocating for our students on and off-campus, and to all levels of government, on behalf of our ever-changing student body.
Through USC Voice, we spotlight the advocacy achievements of the USC and provide insights into current and future priorities. Our goal is to bridge gaps in understanding and connect students more deeply to the issues that affect them through journalism.

The USC is praising this morning’s announcement by Canadain Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who introduced a comprehensive $9B financial support package for Canadain post-secondary students.
The USC called on the provincial and federal governments to freeze student loan repayments due to COVID-19 in two open letters released earlier today.
The University Students’ Council has been actively lobbying local politicians ahead of the City of London’s upcoming multi-year budget.
The USC have set up an interactive art installation in the UCC Atrium to encourage students from marginalized and underrepresented communities to run in the upcoming USC Election.
In anticipation of the upcoming winter break, the London Police Service has partnered with the University Students’ Council to help educate students about safety and security related to off-campus housing.
“The fact that we are asking for Council’s support to allow us to grow demonstrates the strength of our organization,” remarked USC President, Bardia Jalayer.
Three years ago, USC Vice President Cat Dunne would never have pictured herself leading a week-long advocacy conference at Queen’s Park as the President of an alliance of university student associations across Ontario.
